Asia's motor neuron disease burden
Motor neuron diseases (MNDs) in Asia increased deaths and people living with them from 1990 to 2021, while new cases edged down. The study used age-period-cohort analysis and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average forecasting (ARIMA) to map aging effects and project to 2036. As Asia ages, more people may live with MNDs and die from them; the finding calls for better diagnosis and access to medical care.
