Immune checkpoint in ALS
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) shows higher immune checkpoint proteins on immune cells and in the blood, especially in people with more severe symptoms. Higher levels were linked to faster progression and more nerve damage. If confirmed, measuring these proteins could help diagnose the disease earlier and guide prognosis, offering clearer paths for care.
