Japan approves high-dose mecobalamin
In Japan, Rozebalamin for Injection 25 mg (mecobalamin) was approved to slow functional impairment in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The JETALS trial found a 50-milligram dose slowed progression of the disease by about 43% versus placebo after 16 weeks. Adverse events were mild and included constipation, injection-site pain, fever, and rash; this is not a cure, but a new option.
